You’ll also want to check out Kelingking Beach, which is known as the T-Rex beach because it resembles the head of a tyrannosaurus rex from certain angles. It’s a popular location for photos, but most people stop at the lookout and don’t hike down to the beach below.

Another must-see on the west side of the island is Crystal Bay, where crystal clear waters reveal a kaleidoscope of marine life. You can rent snorkel gear at the beach and go on a manta-spotting tour, which is a truly awe-inspiring experience. This is definitely a day trip that’s worth it!

2. Kelingking Beach

A jaw-dropping cliff-backed beach that is one of the most famous photo spots in Nusa Penida and probably Bali. The pristine blue water is simply spectacular and is the best you’ll see on your trip to Indonesia.

The rock pool here is also incredible, and you can actually swim in it once the waves have settled if you’re feeling adventurous. There are different hues of blue within the water, and the rocks create a stunning natural frame for your photos.

It’s a great spot for a picnic, too. There are warungs at the top and down by the beach where you can buy mie goreng or nasi goreng for around 15,000-25,000 rp. It is possible to visit Kelingking Beach on a day trip from Bali.

A lot of people like to rent a scooter to get around the island but I’d recommend going on a tour instead so you can leave all the driving and navigation to someone else. Plus, it’ll be easier to visit popular places like Broken Beach, Angel Billabong, and Atuh Beach.

3. Crystal Bay

A visit to Crystal Bay is the best way to end your nusa penida island tour It’s not as spectacular as Kelingking Beach, but it still offers some wonderful natural scenery. You’ll also want to come here when the weather is good so you can get some incredible photos.

This beach is one of the most popular spots in Nusa Penida to snorkel, thanks to its calm water and colorful coral reefs. You can rent snorkel gear on the beach or at one of the many warungs lining the beach. The beach itself is also a great spot to relax and unwind with an ice-cold Bintang!

4. Atuh Beach

There is a long staircase on the right side of the beach that enables you to climb down to the water. A newer, concrete staircase has been built on the left of the beach – this one is slightly shorter and easier to use.

5. Temple of the Sea

One of the most unique temples on Nusa Penida is Goa Giri Putri, a series of cave-based Hindu and Buddhist temples built into the side of a cliff. Located on the eastern side of the island, this temple is a must-visit for anyone visiting Nusa Penida.

On the way to this temple, you’ll see Atuh Beach. This secluded beach is surrounded by towering cliff walls and a beautiful stretch of white sand. There are also natural pools here that are perfect for swimming.

The best way to explore Nusa Penida is by hiring a car with a driver.
