Boiling and Chilled Water Taps

Boiling and chilled water taps provide the ultimate convenience in modern kitchens. No more waiting for the kettle to boil or filling up jugs of water to keep in the fridge, with an elegantly designed boiling and chilled filtered tap you will have immediate access to instant hot and cold drinking water at your fingertips.

There are a range of different styles and finishes to choose from ensuring that you can find the perfect boiling and chilled water tap to fit your kitchen. Whether you are looking to upgrade your existing kitchen or adding a feature piece to an open plan home, Quandra’s range of boiling and chilled water taps is sure to have something for everyone.

The temperature of your tap water is dictated by the groundwater it comes from and the temperature of the pipework that conveys it to your home. It is important to note that although the tap water may appear piping hot, it will cool down quite quickly. The best way to test the temperature of your water is to use a thermometer. Simply place the tip of the probe into a glass of water or even a pot – anything that won’t lose heat too quickly will work – and check the temperature.

Alternatively, you can use an under bench boiling and chilled water system. These are under bench systems that dispense both boiling and chilled drinking water, so you can eliminate the need for a kettle, declutter your bench tops and free up space in your fridge! Most importantly they are super easy to install and come with all the required accessories including CO2 cartridges.

A boiling and chilled water tap with a filtered option can be the perfect solution to help improve your health and well-being. By providing filtered drinking water straight from your tap, you can eliminate the need to purchase bottled water which is often high in sugar and other additives. Not only that, but a filtered tap can also reduce your energy costs by reducing your carbon footprint.

Choosing the right tap can be tricky as there are so many options and brands to choose from. There are 3 main types of boiling and chilled water taps – standard boiling water only, 3 in 1 and 4 in 1. These are essentially different ways you can access your boiling and chilled water but each has its own unique benefits.

The control on a boiling and chilled tap is typically an easy-to-grip textured metal ring, just above the lever. Push down twice to unlock (that’s the childproofing) and turn to control your water. The ring glows red to indicate you are in boiling water mode, and blue for filtered cold drinking water. If you have the Cube add-on you can also dispense sparkling filtered water by pushing down the ring once again.

When it comes to safety, all our taps come with a built in child-safe spring lock to ensure that your children can’t accidentally operate the boiling water function. The system is also fitted with thermostatic mixing valves which ensure the water temperature never exceeds 44 degrees Celsius – this is to prevent scalding accidents.
