Activities in Lake Garda

The enchanting lake Garda has much to offer, from charming little towns with a variety of activities to stunning landscapes and unique cultural experiences. You’ll have no trouble filling up your days with water sports, hiking, mountain biking, and exploring castles. Or, if you’re looking for something a bit more fun, try a ride on the Gardaland Theme Park or the SEA LIFE Aquarium.

Riva del Garda is a bustling lakeside town with an ancient old center with narrow streets lined with medieval houses and hotels. A stroll around the historic streets is a lovely way to spend an afternoon, and a hike up to the cliff-top church of Santuario Madonna della Corona offers amazing views. But be sure to go early; this place gets crowded in the summer!

You can also visit the famous Castle of Sirmione, which sits on a promontory reaching out into the lake from the southern shore. It’s hard to imagine a more romantic entrance to a town than crossing a drawbridge across a moat into the forecourt of this incredible castle.

A trip to Lake Garda would not be complete without visiting one of the region’s famous waterfalls. The Cascate del Varone (Varone Falls) is a spectacular gushing waterfall that’s great for families, especially because it has several pools where you can swim.

Lake Garda’s varied landscape is perfect for cycling, horse riding, tennis playing, and golfing. The more athletic can take advantage of long mountain bike and motorboat excursions and, in winter, ski on Monte Baldo in Malcesine. And for nature lovers, the mountains surrounding Lake Garda are full of splendid paths and peaks for walks with unreal views. activities lake garda
